Class Descriptions:
Constellation Workshop
You will create a small wall hanging of nine stars using the Square in a Square ruler to make perfect points. Measures 24” x 24”. Three-hour class. Kits are available.
Square in a Square Options Workshop:
In this workshop you will work with the ruler to learn the many different ways or options that you can use the Square in a Square ruler. During class we will make a booklet that shows exactly how you cut your squares to make the options (20 in total). It is a reference booklet that you will keep. Julie will also talk about pattern adaptation. This is a good workshop to acquaint you with the ruler and its possibilities. 6 hour class.
Double Star:
This is a wonderful quilt for beginners to the Square in a Square method of quilting. This is a very quick and easy quilt to sew. In this full day workshop, you will learn to use the Square in a Square ruler to make a 55” x 55” quilt. Flying geese (option #3) and Option #1, the Basic Square, are learned. These two options together make beautiful stars and a gorgeous quilt. 6 hours
In the Garden with Tumbling Blocks:

You would never believe that the Square in a Square Option #1 is all that would be needed to create the Tumbling block design! The most important part is the color and where you put it. Learn to make flying geese (option #3) and half square triangles too. (Option #4) Pattern is from Advancing On II book by Jodi Barrows. 4-hour class
Lillie Pond:
(30” x 38”)
Get at summer feeling down at the lake with this lovely Lillie Pond quilt. You can see the fishes swimming through the lake! Learn to make simple half square triangles and Option #14 which is half square triangles—only better! Learn to make a fun border from Option #14 that will have your friends “swimming” with envy. Students should be familiar with Square in a Square method. 4-hour class
Beginning Quilting using the Square in a Square Technique:
In this beginners class you will learn how to use a rotary cutter for cutting strips and squares, how to piece these blocks together, how to assemble your quilt with the main piece, adding borders and adding bindings. You will create a beautiful lap quilt to keep forever. In addition you will learn the Square in a Square technique to make simple, perfect triangle. This is a two, three-hour class. Please know how to operate your sewing machine.
Cathedral Star:
(46” x 56”)
The Cathedral Star is elegant and so easy to create. In this intermediate class you will learn to make perfect Half Square Triangles (Option #4), Square in a Square (Option #1) and two different color combinations of an Option 18, which are long and skinny flying geese. This will be two, 3 hours sessions and the results are heavenly.
